Smith & Wesson E-Series 1911SC
Steel Slide, Scandium Frame, Commander size, and the first time i shot it, I shot it better than my Colt Combat Elite LOL
Need to take a photo with a real camera instead of a cell phone, it doesn't do it justice.

It is hardly too strong to say that the Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions. There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters. - Daniel WebsterMexican Kerry wrote:Except for Viv. Re: 1911 Picture Thread
Pulled my Ithaca apart tonight after taking it out in the rain the other day. Oiled up and ready to go.

Really gritty trigger so I took a stone to the trigger channel while it was apart. Refinish is very coarse, pulls a lot of lint off the oil rag when wiping it down. Need to use this one more to smooth it out.

Re: 1911 Picture Thread
Thanks koko! It was a real dog, I sent it away to a fella for restoration. Wish I could take some credit for it, but all I did was strip the green paint off it and cut the check at the end. You can see differences in the stampings, he restored a few of them with laser engraving (ordnance wheel for example).
When I got it, it had been severely butchered. Lowered and flared ejection port, enlarged magwell, slide cut for millett adjustable sight, etc etc. He restored all the missing steel, proofmarks, and gave it a very nice dark parkerized finish. I'm really happy with how it turned out, although I need to send the barrel back to him for bluing. It was refinished with manganese phosphate along with the rest of the pistol.

Re: 1911 Picture Thread
New Springfield with old Springfield. New one is actually older production. Gonna get the same treatment as the other (repro GI grips and an old small surplus thumb safety).

Re: 1911 Picture Thread
Stupid question maybe, I've never used a pistol with a light mounted on it. How much does it weigh? you find its very muzzle-heavy?
Nice '91 by the way. I'm not crazy about beavertails or ambi safeties, but that looks like the business.

Re: 1911 Picture Thread
The Streamlight TLR-1 only weighs a couple of ounces. As for ergonomics, can't really say that I notice much, if any difference with or without the light mounted. As for business, it's strictly that. It's our answer for things that go bump in the night. As a dedicated third shift law enforcement officer, I seldom have a weapon that doesn't have or accomodate a light.Mexican Kerry wrote:Stupid question maybe, I've never used a pistol with a light mounted on it.
