Re: What did you pick up today?
Picked up some 5.56 and some bx10 mags for Ruger. Also found a box of the new CCI copper. 1850fps and a 21 grain all copper round. Interested to see how flat it shoots.

Re: What did you pick up today?
I'd be equally interested to know how the terminal ballistics would work with a bullet that light going that fast in a .22LR. Does the copper bullet fragment or maintain it's wieght?RecoilSensitive wrote:Picked up some 5.56 and some bx10 mags for Ruger. Re: What did you pick up today?
I will bring the box I got to the shoot so see what it does.
From the reviews I have seen online it will hold together in gelliten but will tumble. 12 inch or so penetration when shot with 10/22.
Accuracy seems good out to about 75 yards. Then they become unstable. I think when it hits anything hard it will break.

Re: What did you pick up today?
I did some reading on those CCI Copper rds, and am a little concerned that the bullets are powdered copper suspended in a plastic matrix. Plastic in a superheated bore with hot gasses behind it seems to me like a recipe for disaster. I can't help but wonder how much plastic would get shed into the bore and how hard would it be to clean out.RecoilSensitive wrote:I will bring the box I got to the shoot so see what it does.

Later, you might want to get the turret upgrade, it does speed things up a little.

There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.
