I had two Magpul Glock 17 mags waiting in today's mail.

Don't know how I'm going to feel about these. It was dark when I got home, so I didn't have a chance to shoot with them, but I'm confident they'll work fine.

Not altogether pleased with the fact that there is only one witness hole (on the right side) for the 17th round. You'll know when it's full and when it's empty, but in-between you'll have to guess. The baseplate is a bit larger, and has ridges, which will make it easier to extract a stubborn mag. I was concerned its lighter weight (1.8 ounces by my scale; about 30% lighter than an OEM mag) might prevent an empty mag from dropping free easily, but that doesn't seem to be an issue--at least when it's new.

If these get down to $10 or so I think they'd represent a very good value. At or close to retail ($15.95--I paid $15.15 from Midway)...I'm not so sure. I don't have a problem finding new OEM mags for $25, and I think the witness holes and steel liner are worth the extra $10. Then again, I already have a healthy stockpile of 9mm Glock magazines. Someone in the market for a half dozen or more extra magazines for training or competition (or a dozen or two mags for their emergency mag stash) might appreciate the savings.

i tried out one of mine today and it ran with no issues but again I only shot 34 rounds threw it and I loaded the other one up all the way and will try it out later. Hope to run some more rounds in it this week. I also was using a g23 with a lone wolf 40-9 barrel. 100% so far just hope it stays that way. I also agree I'd rather pay the extra $10 for a factory mag especially if my life depended on it.

I didn't pick it up. It was delivered. 25.3 tons of #6 limestone, tailgated on my driveway. Last time I got gravel was spring 2001. Long overdue. Shoveled 6 wheelbarrow loads and raked gravel until my arms felt like rubber bands.

The whole life depends on thing is not a real issue for me. If I didn't think it worked, I wouldn't buy it regardless the price. Magpul is in more self defense AR's than factory mags by far and nobody bats an eye.

A drill and a small bit would make witness holes in 20 seconds and I think it being $15 is a bargain of its as reliable as 556 mags. Hefty discount already, and it will have no trouble selling at that price. Packaging, shipping, marketing, material, manufacturing, retail markup, etc warrants $15 bit the market will tell us for how long.

I'm not typically a fan of large folders, but on too many occasions I've been working in the yard and needed something larger than the SAK that's *always* in my pocket, so I bit the bullet.

I really like it. It's very thin, so it rides in the pocket easily, and it came out of the box with an excellent edge. For $28, I'm happy.

Easy to believe, first run of everything typically can have issues. I only use factory mags but after these have been out a while I might grab a few.
