Criteria:
.22 Magnum
Bull Barrel
Comes with or able to buy aftermarket thumbhole stock
Still up in the air about bolt/auto
Adjustable or "workable" trigger

Wanting this to pop yotes out at the farm with, and as a range toy

The Savage bolt action is a good gun for the money.

What about a lever gun? Maybe a Henry. May not fit all of your criteria, but what fun rifles to shoot!

10/22 Magnum if you can find one in decent shape.

Marlin 25MN in bolt gun, trigger is ok from factory but not the best.

I would look for a Remington 597. You can get them from the factory wigh bull barrels, adjustable triggers and multi-colored laminant stocks.

Used in come in 17hmr as well, but they got pulled off the market and recalled after 17hmr ammo manufacturers warned that 17hmr was unsafe in semi-autos
