Castrol Syntec goes in the Black Beast & has since day one off of the lot. That includes thousands of passes down the drag strip. I''ve never been the least bit sorry for using it.

I use Amsoil in my 84 4Runner and in my 00 7.3 Superduty. The same weight Amsoil got me 2+ MPG over Rottella. The sewing machine 22r is definitely quieter with the Amsoil.

I run amasoil in my 06 R6. It's always been good aside from the price.

Re: Does anyone use amsoil or royal purple?
I used to run Royal Purple in my old Talon, but quit and switched back to Mobil 1. with the RP after 1,000 miles or so the oil would break down and cause lower oil pressure at idle where the Mobil 1 kept it constant. I changed the oil every 2,000 miles or less in that car. But 600hp out of a turbo 4cyl that revved to 9k rpms tends to bring the heat and abuse to oil.
FYI Oreilly sells RP.

I have never ran amsoil in a car. Ran it in the 450 quads racing mx. Noticed a lot less engine wear during rebuilds.

Re: Does anyone use amsoil or royal purple?
At worked we ran Amsoil in the F250 diesels - at $100-150/oil change and seeing no difference, we stopped.
I ran it in my car for a couple of oil changes and saw a reduction in fuel mileage.

Just picked up the mobile 1 extended performance at walmart. Says 15,000 miles between changes so should save me money. We will see. $26.

Re: Does anyone use amsoil or royal purple?
We use Mobil 1 Formula M in all of our customers cars (Porsche, Benz, BMW, etc etc). Only a few track cars get Motul Xcess.
