Sig Sauer Elite Performance V-Crown 9mm
Going to start Carrying 9MM again and need to choose an ammo. The Sig stuff is the most easily sourced right now locally. Any opinions on it? Seems to review pretty well.

Same here, 147gr HST. Pretty sure the only Sig ammo I've shot was FMJ. It was pretty clean and shot and functioned well though.

Sig ammo is great, but I wouldn't use it for carry. HST or something from one of the small mfgs like Underwood is my preference

I carried the sig self defense ammunition based on ballistic test videos I watched. I ran around 1k rounds through several different 9mm’s. I also ran about 1k of the fmj practice or target ammunition since it’s a little cheaper for paper punching. Both were great and never had a ammunition induced malfunction. I wouldn’t hesitate to continue carrying it.
I carry 124gr hst (I think it’s +p) in a g19 and underwood extreme defender +p+ in the g43x and P365.

I picked up a few boxes today. I was surprised when they weren't nickel plated like the picture. Called Sig and found out they suspended nickel plating temporarily due to a nickel shortage. I will run 2 boxes to make sure it's good to go then carry them for a bit. I will eventually get something else because I want nickel plating for long term carry.

Use 124gr Gold dots in my 9mm's.

There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

Ive had no issues with them and they feel super consistent, says the noob.
Also I dont like that they just sold you non nickel plated for full sig sauer nickel plated price.

Why would nickel plating make any difference in longevity? I have a bunch of nickel plated brass that I wanted just for looks with my powder coated lead cast bullets. I’m a sweaty fat guy and always change the rounds in my magazines. Once I load a magazine and a spare, they are usually the first magazines I shoot when I go to the range. Then I’ll run through my range ammo and load new self defense magazines when I’m done.KYgundude wrote:I picked up a few boxes today. I was surprised when they weren't nickel plated like the picture. 1) Nickel plated rounds in a gun all the time and not in airtight ammo containers is said to corrode sloweriron369 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 23, 2023 3:29 pmWhy would nickel plating make any difference in longevity? 2) Nickel has lower resistance and is known to load smoother than brass
3) I paid them for nickel so I want it? (shrug)
