Operation "WarDaddy Grips"
Bored today, so I'm making a set of sweetheart grips for my new Smith M1917. I've made some for a 1911 but these will be slightly more challenging just because of the contours needed.
Looking for some better images from the movie gun to replicate them. If you know of some or know what/who the "sweetheart" images used were, let me know please.

This one is similar to the first pic, might be good enough for this project.

It's not really considered a kids movieMexican Kerry wrote:Grips rough shaped, back to it in a bit. Gotta taxi a bunch of kids to Deadpool.
There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

Hmm. They are all 15. Too young? I know nothing about it, my wife always tells me I'm a bad father.

15? Borderline IMHO

There is nudity, sex scenes, awful language, graphic gun violence and multiple types of stabbings and torture. That aside you know if your kids can handle that or not.Mexican Kerry wrote:Hmm. They are all 15. Too young? I know nothing about it, my wife always tells me I'm a bad father.

That does it. I'm in! (Deadpool )
On the grips... are you making the acrylic grips or adding pic to the interior of existing grips?
I have been toying with the idea of making a mold of existing grips and pouring clear acrylic to get mostly pre-fit acrylic grips. I have seen others use onion paper to print images or phrases to imbed into acrylic. Copy paper breaks down when placed into uncured acrylic. (Poly methyl methacrylate )

Re: Operation
Dammit. I didn't look into it, the wife gave the go-ahead to him. I also assumed all his friends' parents knew what they were going to see. On the other hand, they are 15 yr old boys, I'd bet they've seen much more graphic and explicit. thank you internet.jackalo626 wrote:There is nudity, sex scenes, awful language, graphic gun violence and multiple types of stabbings and torture. I'm making them out of lexan with pics behind, like on this 1911 I did a while back.Geno wrote:On the grips... are you making the acrylic grips or adding pic to the interior of existing grips?

Re: Operation "Fury Grips"
I think 5% of people knew what Deadpool was and that's being generous. Maybe 5% is the correct number but they likely learned who he was within the last 3 months.Mexican Kerry wrote:Dammit. Re: Operation "Fury Grips"
I'm sure that the Lexan will be more stable and most likely clearer. Very nice.

Am I the only one that reads this and thinks it says Furry grips?

Re: Operation "WarDaddy Grips"
Messed around with the grips a bit tonight, got one done. Needs more polishing yet, the surface is a bit hazy.
