Do we have a drink thread?
As someone who is on the "upper end of social" as far as drinking goes, this is a daily requirement. Whatchoo drinking today, every day. Got a favorite drink? Post it up and share your secrets to elevated living.
If all you got to offer is "Scotch", keep it to yourself ya damn dial tone!

Re: Do we have a drink thread?
After lots of drinking and going to "Mixology school" and tending bar, I have found the best drinks for my taste are as followed... 1. Mix Knob Creek with (crushed preferably) ice and serve...2. Mix Woodford with (crushed prefered also) ice and serve...3. Mix Makers Mark with (surprise, crushed) ice and serve...Now these are bartender's tricks of the trade so don't let these out. It's some good shit...hahaha That's just my taste though...haha What liquors and mixers do you like? I probably can give a few good suggestions.

Re: Do we have a drink thread?
I'm drinking a pint glass full of ice then topped up with a 50/50 mix of beam and coke. Goddam hot today, anything cold feels good. Started with a few Mooseheads this morning.

In the morning it is black coffee with Sweet-n-low.
Rest of the day is Diet Mt. Dew. or spring water.

Cutting grass is the price I gladly pay for not being cold.

All my Makers and Jack bottles are in the Freezer. The Red Stag gets put in the big fridge outside. 0 degrees in that one. Just a preference. When I mix the sweet tea, I do a version of a Hot Totty more often than not so the freezer doesn't matter much.

I've also found a new beer. Not a beer drinker, but nearly polished off a case a couple days ago. Bud Platinum. There may be much better options out there, but I don't explore beer brews often.

I've heard about that from many people, just haven't seen it anywhere around here. Only time I get that close to the Volunteer, I'm in a commercial vehicle so that wouldn't be a good idea.

That'd be awesome. I'll pay for them, no biggie. Been wanting to try 'em out for a while. And, there's a chance that I'll set up with him for a day or so. I'll know more by mid week.

Wasn't that called the mine on KFA?Do we have a drink thread?
There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

I like Woodford Reserve if I am drinking it straight. If I am mixing at all I will drink jack or jim....
I had some kind of pomegrante margarita at chilis tonight, it was good till I got the check and saw that fucker was 8.99.. Fuck I could have drank 3 of them at Tumbleweed for that..

Yuengling is quite possibly the only thing I miss about living in Virginia...Good stuff and I'm not a big beer drinker.Dave1965 wrote:Yuengling. Imported from TN via my car trunk.

And if you ask them if there is much alcohol in them and you have an honest server, they will tell you no. It takes a couple of those el presidente ones at chilis to start the buzz. Local mexican place in my town takes one good one.BIGC wrote:I like Woodford Reserve if I am drinking it straight. If I am mixing at all I will drink jack or jim....

Re: Do we have a drink thread?
Oh lord..
I am a vodka and a wine drinker.
My vodka of preference is Rain. Next in line to that is the Costco Vodka and if I have to pick a type out at a restaurant I will usually pick Grey Goose.
I 98% of the time drink vodka and chambord up, no garnish.
Next is wines...
I drink cheap wine on a daily basis. Usually the cheapest I can find either in box or bottle form.
But I do appreciate better ones... Cabs, Old Vine Zin's, Chardonnay, and I LOVE a good stout Bordeaux.
But August is a no alcohol month so I will drool
