AR trouble

Post by Till » Sun Mar 04, 2012 10:55 am

Ok guys so it's been this way since I put her together but figured I'd try and finally figure it out!

I have two AR's both surplus lowers, one has a BCM upper the other one I cant remember.

Anyway AR, A has had trouble shooting. The firing pin strikes but no bang....
AR, B is constant bang bang bang.

I can take the bullet from AR, A put it in AR, B and it will fire except one which I'm guessing it was the bullet.

Ideas? I replaced the whole lower parts kit, and the firing pin....

Check for a burr in the firing pin channel.
There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

It's good, just cleaned it last night like a good cleaning. Didn't find anything like that.

Sounds like somehow the one is not going into battery fully.
Check for burr in barrel extension.

my old ar did this.it was due to the firing pin tip being damage/worn out.so i guess it wasnt long enough to actually fire the primer.

Something else you can check it to make sure the hammer spring is installed correctly...

It can be installed with spring below trigger pin and it will still work but cause light strikes etc..
