I've always been surprised that these are legal anyway.

Re: Potentially bad news for the Sig brace
I've always said what the ATF can give with a letter can be taken with a letter.
There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

All it takes is a switch in the persons writing the letter.WLJ wrote:I've always said what the ATF can give with a letter can be taken with a letter.

Re: Potentially bad news for the Sig brace
Read the text of the article. Has really nothing to do with the sig brace on an AR.

Re: Potentially bad news for the Sig brace
I think the point he's trying to make is that if it can be deemed a short barreled shotgun if the user shoulders the firearm, then an AR could be deemed an SBR if the user shoulders it.

I wish I would see as much effort that is spent skirting the law, spent trying to get it changed.

Potentially bad news for the Sig brace
I think the atf was referring more to the shotguns barrel then the brace. Since when can you have a non NFA 12 gauge pistol?

Yeah. Pretty sure any pistol with over a 1/2" bore is a no go...gotta be a SBS or AOWgaston_kalash wrote:I think the atf was referring more to the shotguns barrel then the brace. Since when can you have a non NFA 12 gauge pistol?

Re: Potentially bad news for the Sig brace
If it has no shoulder stock on it, it is not a shotgun! It is a firearm.

Re: Potentially bad news for the Sig brace
No the Manufacture is the one screwing up.
Not the ATF not anybody else.
They are trying to market a SBS without the required paper work.
The SIG brace is a AR pistol device not for a SBS.
As a shotgun is not a pistol by law and definition.
