The first link is where to purchase the ammo for less than $1 per round, which is already a VERY good deal for defensive/hunting ammo. The second link is to the Barnes Fall Rebate form, offering 1 free box of equal or lesser cost ammo for every 2 boxes you purchase. Buy 200 rounds from the first link, which is packaged in 10 boxes, send in the rebate, and get 5 free boxes from Barnes. That is 300 rounds of Barnes VOR-TX 55gr TSX for $200 shipped, $.66 per round.

Barnes VOR-TX ammo using their 55gr TSX which offers stellar terminal performance, stabilizes out of 1:9 twist barrels, and doesn't require a true 5.56 chamber. The TSX solid copper projectiles expand very reliably to about twice their diameter (.224x2=.448) as long as they are traveling 1800+ fps when they hit their target. If cool guy points mean anything to you, a 70gr Barnes TSX reportedly killed Bin Laden in the form of '5.56 Optimized' loaded by Black Hills. .223 and 5.56 TSX loadings come very highly recommended by Dr. Roberts, whose expertise on ballistics is damn near unmatched. If you want more info I can give it to you. It's a fantastic round at an unbeatable price.

For reference, in my BCM 14.5in middie, Wolf Gold 55 gr FMJ and this Barnes VOR-TX 55gr TSX both have the same POA/POI at 50 yards. My optic was zeroed with Wolf Gold. For hunting season I needed to zero with the VOR-TX. Fired three rounds, and no adjustments were necessary.

Deer must be allergic to the copper or something. In any case, she didn't like it.

My rebate information was sent out today at the end of the day. I'll update with progress as the rebate goes through.

I was away from home for two days. When I got home this morning my ammo was waiting for me. Pretty quick turn around for a rebate offer.

12 days from sending out an envelope via snail mail to having ammo, and I suspect two of the days shouldn't really count.
