Problem with my Carbon 15... need help.
I recently purchased a Carbon 15 from my nephew. The gun shoots great, but there is a problem. I went to put a new scope on it and the flattop picatinny rail was loose. I went to tighten it down and the upper itself, is stripped. Can this be fixed without buying a new upper?
Thanks...
Thanks...

Epoxy
There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

I wondered about doing this... I just think it will happen again.. the bolt is not going to hold as well as I would like.. LOL!ken6881 wrote:drill and tap to a larger size? or drill forward or rearward of current hole and retap the same size as it is now
Is there a base out there that would clamp directly to the body, not using the picatinny, but using the grooves on the base? That, too me, is my best bet....

I got some Loctite epoxy and tried it.. apparently, it is not going to work.. I checked it a few minutes ago and it was still loose.. This is after about 2.5 hours...WLJ wrote:Epoxy

I think I would stay away from that nephew if I were you. Especially if he is the one who gave you the weaponlight you were also trying to sell (which you never responded to my offer on). Doesn't seem to be giving you any breaks on stuff.

The carbon fiber just the filler
Screws holes are inserts cast /bonded/screwed in the form
So you are going to drill/tap to a larger size or fabricate a new insert etc
Or pick a 6/8 sized common threaded repair insert ie a helicoil

If I brought you the gun next weekend or after ( I leave for Dallas at 5 today) could you work your magic on it and get this took care of?guncrank1 wrote:The carbon fiber just the filler
