Bullet stuck in a barrel.
In my new M&P 9 I have got a round stuck in the barrel. What in the hell would cause this? Brand new never fired and I put 20 or 21 rounds through it fine and it chambered and the slide didn't close. I reracked thinking it jammed and still the same. Took it in the house, took it apart and there is a bullet stuck maybe 3/4" down the barrel. WTF?! Would it hurt anything trying to knock it out with a wooden dow rod?

Bullet stuck in a barrel.
20+ rounds went fine before this one found the barrel so nice it decided it wants to just stay there...haha I'm glad it stopped where it did and not a 1/4" further so it wouldn't chamber and fire the next round.Dave1965 wrote:Current smith Wesson quality control might cause it. Lol.

Re: Bullet stuck in a barrel.
I don't see any way this could be gun related.
A cartridge with no powder will do this. When you're very lucky the bullet won't make it far enough down the barrel to allow the next cartridge to chamber when you rack the slide.
If a round doesn't feel right when fired, STOP!

Bullet stuck in a barrel.
I agree, I feel like it was ammo also. 100% luck. I fired the first 17 round mag very slow and cautious and this was the second and I decided to sling some lead to see if it would cycle fine. This was 4-6 rounds into the second mag.Frailer wrote:I don't see any way this could be gun related.

Re: Bullet stuck in a barrel.
Primer and no powder
Never shot somebody else reloads
You have now mushroomed the bullet and it is now stuck harder.
A wood dowel is NOT a squib rod material.
And yes I could get it unstuck

Bullet stuck in a barrel.
Not positive if they were reloads or not. Not ever really dealt with them much. They were from a member on here if they are reloads. Will you be at your shop today?guncrank1 wrote:Primer and no powder

Gun is fine. Its an ammo issue.
If it was the gun, you never would of got the first shot off.

Bullet stuck in a barrel.
I some how got a round with no powder in it. Caught it because it was much quieter. I'm my xdm40 it made it out the barrel.
Sucks either way hope it didn't hurt the barrel

Re: Bullet stuck in a barrel.
No barrel not hurt
Even with a stuck brass brush in it as well
Here are the gun smithing tools , a Stanley 8oz ball pien hammer and a piece of 5/16 ejector pin.
Note the circular mark on work bench
Took a few hard whacks.
