Just left Buds....
Seems they are price gouging on PMags. They have the 30rd GenM2 black w/o window for $39.99 limit 4 per customer, no dealers. Place is packed like crazy. Soon as they brought out a box of DoubleStars, they were gone, and that happened 3 times. Rifle wall is almost bare, and handguns are looking slim also. I got a $100 gift card that I might not ever use if they aint' got what I want.
They also had 1000rd cases of Federal 5.56 for about $550.

I was there the other day when the pmags were 30 each, then jumped to 35, now you say to 40. They had a limit of 4 each.
From my sources I understand that DS is shipping buds a pallet of rifles every day. Good working relationship there.

Re: Just left Buds....
They aren't gouging. They aren't making you buy Pmags. You don't need Pmags to live. But if you WANT them like everyone else, you are going to pay what they are worth.
They are clearly worth $40 each, as they are selling them fast at that price. I sold all mine at $28 and had people saying I was "gouging". That word doesn't exist in a free market.

Re: Just left Buds....
It is gouging when the distributor is charging the same price as usual. but because everybody is scared of the upcoming ban, and waited til last minute shops and individuals are taking advantage of the situation. Opportunity is what makes America and I was smart enough to get what I needed before. I'd say majority of those who are paying those prices are the ones who are just now jumping on the bandwagon. Sorry for em. And I'm not knocking the shops or ppl who are getting paid but it is gouging. Now if the distributor raises prices then its not. If a ban isn't put in place (which one will be) are these prices gonna be the norm? I doubt it. They will go back to regular price. Then all these ppl who got taken advantage of will be feeling sick. Now if a ban is put into place (which one will be) then these ppl will feel like the got lucky and got a good deal. All about taking advantage of opportunities. That is America

I got two Pmags at home. It says $17.50 on them and they were bought a week before the shooting at the Sandy Hook. Take that as you want, I'm just saying.
You seem to have me confused...
You don't need a black rifle to be cool, but it sure helps.

Look on Ebay at the hard to find toys parents have to have for their kids for Christmas. I remember when the Xbox and PS3 were going for $1000+.
Its supply and demand. But fear of another AWB adds to the mix for our toys.

I agree. This is probably technically not gouging. I would say however they are greedily exploiting the consumer's feelings of need based on an anticonstitutionalst government hellbent on taking our rights away.
The beauty of it all is capitalism has a certain equilibrium to it. When the dust settles and we return to norm ( Whatever that new norm may be, with or without black rifles ) and people relax, they will remember how it all played out and their loyalties will determine who the more successful gun shops will be. With the likely reduced revenue of that new norm, those who held true to the shooting community will be the ones to flourish. In other words.... When this shit is all done with, we will all buy what we can from folks like 111 and stay loyal to those who stayed loyal to us during the dark times.
Charge what you want gun shops. It's your right. Just remember that Karma's a bitch!

Re: Just left Buds....
I posted this elsewhere:
I am all for no gouging. When there is a storm and the gas goes up a dollar or something, thats gouging. Guns and ammo may be a bit different. Most of this pricing is current market value. If people quit buying it the price will come back down but the reality is they are buying everything. If I was these guys and had a sinificant amount of money tied up in it I would want to make as much as I could before a law is written to turn it over without compensation. Some of them may be put out of business? It could happen, although not likely. How many people sell gold for what they gave for it several years ago? Nobody. Guns and ammo just became a commodity and the price will reflect that. I think the big picture is why didnt evryone have this stuff already? I was around for the first ban and since then I have steadily been building up what I need to weather the storm. Something about the squirrell getting the nut.. Its reality as bad as I hate to say it.
An AWB will make prices much higher in the future and you may be lucky enough to have an AR? If there is a ban prices wont come back depending on how devastating it is. Case in point.Back BEFORE the ban,I bought a brand new in the box HK SP89 for $1100. Have you checked those lately? It will never be back and the ban this time will do the same. Thats my opinion.I hope I am wrong.

Just to add, The guns and ammo being sold now have dried up distributors and manufacturers. There is no more stock in the pipeline. Backorders have been taken and it will take a while before they get caught up. I know AR parts were already in short supply. It may be too late by then?

Re: Just left Buds....
I feel sorry for AR guys, but just remember, if you can't carry it all out with you, its just extra anyway. I was around for 1968 gun control act, when my Dad said they were going to take our guns and the bans in California until I got back home. I'm concerned about the price of ammo more than anything else I want to be able to train and keep the rust off. I believe that will be right after a ban, or if a ban does not go thru, they will go to the ammo. I can still recall i had to sign for ammo, as a young Marine in the 70's, to shoot a 22lr for kicks. I guess the Stones were close to being right, Sometimes you can't get what you want, but you get what you need.

I agree with REXT.
Everyone on here had the same opportunity as everyone else. Where where these people when gun websites were selling the 420 round cans of M855 for $142 shipped to your door? I was buying them.
What about when cases of XM193 where $275 to your door? I was buying them. When PSA was selling stripped lowers for $69 each? I was buying them. When Bolt Carrier Groups were $110 delivered? I was buying them. When 1200 round cases of IMI M855 were less than $400 delivered to your door? I was buying them.
Everyone else could have bought them for the same prices.
Now that everyone wants to stock up on it they are upset that prices magically went higher. I guarantee you won't find those ammo prices in those stores any longer now. The demand has skyrocketed and supply is dried up. But when someone offers their valuable stash up for sale and it is more than you want to pay people want to cry foul. Simply buy it from somewhere else if you don't like the price. That's what's so great about this Country! You can pass on it from one seller and go to another!
Oh wait, there is more buyers than sellers right now. Hating on a person for trying to get the most out of their item is silly.

Mike is right on point here... I don't have to reiterate anything that he has already said.
