Bank of Buffalo Robbed in LaRUE County

Post by Lincoln Arms » Mon Jul 09, 2012 4:29 pm

Last Friday, The Bank of Buffalo was robbed in Buffalo, KY. My mother works at the Hodgenville Branch of this bank and she sent me this photo. There doesn't seem to be a lot of leads at this time, but I wanted to post this picture and see if other members could at least help in identifying this handgun. Upon first glance, it appeared to have a suppressor on it, which is why the bank sent me the picture in the first place. The tellers identified it as a 9mm handgun, but it just doesn't look right. If anyone has any super duper imaging software that can increase it without making it blurry, feel free to post back on this thread. There is a small chance that this gun was purchased new and then used to rob a bank, but I've seen crazier stuff. Especially from crooks. Thanks Everyone for your help.

picture is too grainy to blow up and get a better view. can't tell if the barrel is truly round or if its more of a Desert Eagle triangular shape. if you could get a better pic it would help.

Why is a voice in my head saying CZ-52. But that would be bizarre.
There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

To me it doesn't look right to be a 22/45, look at the tail of it (zoom in you can see the angle against his arm) it has what appears to be a beavertail looking protrusion

We need better pictures!

But playing with different filters, everything I could pull out if it showed it looks like a Ruger Mark series pistol. It has a long round barrel.

Someone at work jokingly asked me if I did it, and I responded that they didn't have enough $$$ for me to bother because all they had was buffalo nickles. :llama:

It looks very much like a heavy barreled MKII to me. It could very easily be mistaken to have a can on it, but looks like a 5.5" target model (I have two if anyone wants to compare......just sayin'). The MKII does have a bit of a beavertail sweep back over the thumb.
