Breaking news as of five minutes ago, there has been a "large" explosion in Manhattan at 23rd St & 6th Ave. It's being attributed to an IED at the moment. There are multiple injured people, but I'm not sure to what extent.
REPORTS of the explosion coming from a trash can. First hand accounts say the ground shook. I don't see any shattered glass or anything at the source of the explosion so far.
Found a video showing a building with some ground level glass broken, the building next to it seems fine. Ambulances are taking away people with what look like minor injuries (sitting up, no visible blood or wounds), which hopefully means there's no one with major injuries to prioritize.
I'm not SAYING it was connected to the explosives found (and one detonated) in trash cans in New Jersey just recently, but here's a picture of a blown up trash can, and the NYPD bomb squad is searching all dumpsters in the area.
