An island off the coast of Sao Paolo, Brazil, is home to one of the deadliest snakes on Earth—and there are a lot of them. Some believe there's a golden lancehead viper for every square meter of Ilha de Queimada Grande, or as many as 4,000 of them, Smithsonian reports; others say there are five per square meter, the Wall Street Journal notes.
World's 'deadliest' island is seriously snake-infested

They're wrong. There's a much worse nest of vipers on the Potomac.

Fox needs a new science editor. 4,000 (estimated number of vipers) divided by 400,000 (area of the island in square meters) does not equal one.

That's still a boatload of snakes, mind you, but it's a far cry from one per square meter.

I heard that this island has a hard time supplying food for the snakes. I wonder what one of those would fetch on the exotic pet market...

About five grand, but you need C.I.T.E.S. paperwork to get one.

There's a MUCH higher rate of dangerous snakes per square meter in the white house and we haven't done anything about it!

Oh, and I would MUCH rather take a vacation trip to this island than the white house.

There's a movie called snakes on a train that predates snakes on a plane by quite a few years. It's even worse.
