Not sure what kind of bike this was in the video, but the ol Chevy said bye bye in a hurry....

I don't think he can necessarily beat a crotch rocket with a skilled driver intent on racing. Didn't sound to me like the bike was running balls out. It didn't sound like he even hit the power band.

Any sport bike riders care to weigh in?

Actually. To add to it, I don't even think that is a crotch rocket. Mirrors are all wrong

It depends how fast that car is. A few of my friends drag cars were faster than any of my bikes, in a straight line at least...haha

Slow bike, sorta fast car. I know this thread is in good fun but who the hell races when they are in front of someone instead of side by side? Ps that Chevy is screwed when a turn comes up hahaha!

Are you sure your giving bikes their due credit? A completely stock production Ninja ZX14 can do 0-60 in around 2.5 seconds. A 1.4 litre engine in a 500 pound vehicle has a whole lot of get up and go. You take a modded bike (seeing as that car is far from stock) and you'll see some <9 second quarter miles. Most of the big bikes are under 10 right off the showroom floor

I owned a few and rode several more sport bikes since I was 17. I've spent a good deal of time at the track myself and understand how fast bikes are. I've spent a good deal of time in my mach 1 at the track. I rode an 06 GSXR1000 to 7.70s and I'm 190 pounds. It was bone stock with a slip on pipe.

Notice the bike riders right and left hand as well and the tach being pegged out as he's giving that bike hell. Bikes shine from a 15 MPH or so roll as this was. That car ran off and left the bike like it was tied to a tree. Also, that car broke traction a good ways away from where he punched it. The bike seemed to be in about 3rd gear before he realized he bit off more than he could chew.

the bike in question is a turd 600 or so touring bike. A liter bike with an average size rider would leave this thing and cost $70,000 less lol. I'm not unimpressed with the Chevy, hell I like it but the race was doody with him taking off ahead of the bike and the bike has nothing in common with a "fast" bike to be honest. My bike stock (mines modded)does 9.8 in the quarter AND turns on a dime. Best of both worlds.

nah I got you but I'm saying you were comparing it to a modded turbo 8 so it is apples to oranges for me. I'm in awe of lots of cars and bikes and don't really have favorites. To be fair a c6 was on the list right before I found my Z. You going to cars and coffee Saturday at captains quarters? It's the best car show around for high end cars.

Anyone can go fast on a 1k sport bike that weighs 400 pounds. Running 9.8 in a qtr in a car is a totally different animal.

for that price you get awd, a nice inferior, monitoring systems for everything and an on board computer that does everything but make you breakfast, etc. car for car I'd take the gtr.

My buddy has a 2009 zo6 that he paid 30k for. Polluter cam and gears and it runs 6.59 in an eighth on motor. Still faster then the gtr. Plus he doesn't have to I've in it because it has a 1200 a month car payment. I can run 7.50 in my cheap ass Mach1 and it's a stick car. Some people have more money than sense. Especially people who spend 100k on a car.

I had 7.3 time slips on the eighth when I had my trans am. I only had about 6k in it total. Junkyard 400 out of a gto with 400 turbo trans, 850 dual pumper holley and there was no such thing as airbags in that thing. I have been 160 in a car and 135ish on a bike (speedo tached) and I can say that both are about as exhilarating to me..... Granted I would love to have another bike, the car was a teenage/early 20's deal that I probably wouldnt do again.
