Would some consider this sacrilegious?

There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

More of a rhetorical question really.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

I don't think it's *wrong*, but I do think it's tasteless.

Well at least Jesus has good taste in guns.

Jesus would never say "Bro" :llama:

‘Guns’ aren’t mentioned in the Bible … but swords are. It seems that they are comparable.

The first mention of ‘sword’ is actually in the hands of the Lord’s emissaries. Gen 3: 24So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.

So clearly here, the sword is used for guarding that which is important enough and precious enough for it. Also, it is clear that mankind did not invent the sword. It originated in heaven.

Now, it is clear from the Old Testament that the sword is used in many different capacities. It is used as a tool of judgment – both in the hands of the Israelites on their enemies, and of the nations on the Israelites. It is also used (as mentioned about) to guard. It is also used in anger, in a way that typically incurs harsh judgment.

Psalm 7 says,”11God is a just judge,
And God is angry with the wicked every day.
12If he does not turn back,
He will sharpen His sword;
He bends His bow and makes it ready.
13He also prepares for Himself instruments of death;
He makes His arrows into fiery shafts.”

Rather a strong reference to the fact that God Himself wields all manner of ‘instruments of death.’

I wouldn't allow it in my home, but others are free to follow their own path. What does bother me is that Jesus is depicted as lacking trigger discipline and flagging himself with the rifle....this shall not stand.

Behold I stand at the door and knock.

That would have probably made it even less palatable for some.
