Re: Gas prices
I decided to put reg vs premium to a test.
Over a period of time I filled up with reg or premium and kept track of my mileage with each. Found out I got enough extra MPG with premium to cover the extra cost which meant my cost per mile was about the same, plus the car ran better on it.

There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

I did that when I had my S10 but it also ran on E85. I found that I got the best mileage out of the premium but the E85 mileage was close enough that it was worth using back then because it was a full dollar cheaper at the time, of course when I had my S10 there was only one gas station within 50 miles of the house and that was Cecil's downtown on 7th and Jefferson......... The E85 made the truck run like a scalded dog too....

Gas prices
Same could be said for people that buy $40k quad cab trucks and drive them 30 miles back and forth to work five days a week.KYgundude wrote:Why anyone would buy a regular driver that requires premium gas escapes me. It's not like the weekend ferrari?
I drove a Honda that required premium for eight years. Didn't bother me at all.
Eagerly awaiting the XDS release...

Re: Gas prices
Did anyone see the news item yesterday that DOE chairman Chu gave himself an "A" grade for the job he's been doing keeping gas prices down? He seems to think that 115% increase in prices since O took office is reasonable and he has been solely responsible for keeping gas prices "under control". Gotta wonder what curve that grade came from, straight down?

Hear that loud sucking sound? That's the sound of 1.5 billion tax dollars leaving Louisville, that Louisville never sees again, and goes to Frankfort with which everything else in Ky is being built.Frailer wrote:I've never understood why gas jumps 15-20 cents a gallon when you hit the Jefferson County line on Dixie.

In that case, could you Louisvillians spend a few bucks to have stripes painted on my road? I'm tired of oncoming cars taking their half out of the middle.WLJ wrote:Hear that loud sucking sound? Re: Gas prices
Today we export more oil out of this country than ever before, produce more oil than we have ever produced, and use less than we have ever used, yet pay more than we have ever paid?
Hmmmmmm.
