Glock 9mm question

I've been thinking about buying a Glock 9mm to shoot some Glock league matches at Open Range and not a big Glock guy. The only one I've owned was a G23 I got a REALLY good deal on and eventually sold. Not a .40 fan either. I've shot a G19 ad G17 and shot pretty well with both yet I didn't feel totally comfortable holding either gun. Nothing specific, maybe just need to shoot more Glock. Question is, is there any real benefit of the G34 over the G17 other than the chance to spend an extra $100? haha Thanks for any opinions and info...

Real advantage? Well for match shooting, all of the team shooters use the long slide models. Longer sight radius and increased velocity will be the main advantages.

There seems to be a really small difference in the two of them physically. I have held the G34 but not shot it. I've shot the G17 (maybe gen2 or 3, not the newest) a little bit. I maybe go Open Range and rent them both an see if I can choose which I like and shoot better.

No benefit unless you care about the longer sight radius.

I dislike the cutout on the slide, which can cause jams if anything gets in there. Its extra $$. No more accurate (actually shorter glocks tend to be more accurate in my own experience and things ive read). And i dont think it adds velocity on std 9mm (dont quote me on that one tho).

I take the velocity part back....it has to add velocity if 9mm carbines are clocking 357 speeds with a 16" bbl

Thanks for the info. Sounds like I need to throw some rounds through all 3 and see what I shoot better with and let that be my deciding factor as I don't have plans for any of these being my carry gun. Do any of the other options like the compensated models or whatever it is worth looking into?

34 has Longer sight radius and extended controls for mag and slide release. I like the 19C for a match gun.

I've shot the G19 but not the G19C. Is there a noticeable difference? Looks like another model I need to try out.

Any of the C models have a Compensated barrel and slide. I don't know about the 9mm. Next weekend I will be out at the range with my 19C and a buddies 19 can do a apple it apples comparison.

Huge diffrence. Mostly if your shooting idpa. 25 yard nail driver. Switch out your Connector to 3.5# add lone wolf stuff and if you shoot straight you will be good to go. The 17L will not fit in the idpa "box" but ive been beaten by plenty of "hot" g19s as well.

Yes it noticeable as I have the 19c now and have shot plenty of 19 's but one can argue a good shooter is a good shooter. That being said the same person would do better IMO with the c model competition wise.

what I have noticed on a 19C is in low light or night shooting you are almost blinded due to the way the flash comes out the top ported holes. Keep this in mind if you shoot at night.
