I'm pretty sure glock does not make gen4 compensated models neither that said it is impossible to put a gen 4 sping in a gen 3 glock. I think it's some aftermarket spring that resembles a gen 4 spring. If you compare the hole size for the guide rod to go through it's impossible.

unless it's a subcompact glock then the gen 3 and gen 4 springs are identical beside the newer gen 4's have a stainless sleeve.

Ok so it looks like its definitely a gen3. The barrel and slide have matching numbers. I've ordered an OEM slid elock spring and recoil spring with the guide rod. Hopefully that will get things straightened out. I already replaced the Mag release back to stock since I don't like the extended ones, but I'm probably going to leave the extended slide release since I do like them and usually put them on all my glocks. it also has a Lone wolf connector and probably trigger spring.

Just an update:
I replaced the recoil assembly with an oem assembly. I also replaced the trigger spring and the slide stop spring.
Broke it all the way down and cleaned everything really well.
After replacing those parts, I have run about 500 rounds through it without any problems.
It runs great, but the primer still has the same intention. Am I missing something or should I leave it alone since it's running well.

You meant the primer is a rectangle instead of the typical circle dent other handguns have?

^^good question

If the answer is "yes," that's the way spent cases fired in Glocks look.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking he is referring to. Very distinct primer strike.

I've had several glocks that don't leave an impression like that. I've even had other 19's that don't leave the rectangular indentation. My 30, my 22, my 43. None do that. Just this one. I'm not saying it's not normal. I just haven't seen any other glock do it. Maybe a head spacing issue as previously suggested?

Google "glock primer strike" and look at the images.

The tip of the Glock striker is a rounded triangular blade. It's going to leave an impression like that.

I have owned 2 gen 1 G17s, a gen 2.5 G26, a gen 3 G19 and a gen 3 G17. All of them left firing pin marks like this.
