MAG tacticle lower
Hey fellow gun nuts, I'm new to this forum. Anyway I bought a MAG Tacticle lowers for a .300 blackout build, I have not yet got it all together totally but what I have put on it fits good I think(lower parts kit, grip, and stock) so far. But I wanted to see if anyone else has bought any of these lowers, the finish is cheap like rattle can paint cheap so I hope the quality was skimpped on else where. Also I didn't see disclaimer in the box when I bought it saying you cannot sand, grind, sandblast because of the material it's made out of. That sucks because I wanted to have it cerakoted. My question is has anyone tried sandblasting this lower and if so how did it turn out? I've thought about chemical stripper to get paint off, but not sure about that either. If I see disclaimer I may have not bought this lower. So if anyone can help me out I would appreciate it. Thanks.
Re: MAG tacticle lower
They came be sandblasted, just needs to be done with the right material.
180grit aluminum oxide is preferred.
I know these lowers pretty well.

Hey thank you for the quick reply. I'm from Indiana and so is MAG tacticle so I wanted to support local business ya know. Well that's good to know now, also it doesn't seem like it will take much to get that paint off. Thanks.

Ya that's what the disclaimer says it has dura coat on it. I never owned anything with dura coat on it, but that isn't a durable finish at all like they claim it is. I bought it around the first week of March this year. Like I said trigger fit good and everything else so far. MAG tacticle is supposed to be coming out with uppers made from same material late summer I think they said on Facebook, I wish it was now I wanna get this thing running.
Re: MAG tacticle lower
Was just wondering, we are cerakoting their lowers now but I guess they are all being sent to brownells. Haven't seen any show up locally yet.

Re: MAG tacticle lower
Are you loading your own .300BLK, or buying commercial? Do you plan on using both sub- and supersonic loads?

Livewire, I was born and raised in Hammond near Scary Gary, and now we moved to Michigan City since 2010. How about yourself. Wyldman, I plan on loading my own, I'm very new(green) with .300 blackout loads like sub and super sonic loads as you mentioned. Not sure what the difference and what it all means. But I've been around guns and stuff since I was a kid, I hunt also. Hopefully I can meet a lot of knowledgable guys on here to help me along the way with the .300 like I did about this topic I posted about the MAG Tac lower.

I'm from western Kentucky. I thought maybe you were closer you could take your lower to one of the gunsmiths on KAC and they could help you out.
