HOWTO: Utilize the Draft System
Posted: Wed Mar 07, 2012 11:45 am
Problem: You almost finished writing an elaborate and snarky post shattering the dreams of (insert gun brand here) with your witty analysis of (insert gun brand here)'s new 32.44mm TRUMAN pistol and it's obvious failings in comparison to (insert other gun brand here)'s offerings, but your mother calls you up for supper. Don't make Mother wait, she won't be happy if you make her wait - The fine hamsters running this here website have you covered! PHPBB offers the ability to save post drafts and pick them up whenever you want later.
Hopefully you may have noticed a little 'Save draft' button at the bottom of new posts - This takes whatever you've written and ports it off into a hidey hole to pick up later.

You'll get the following message. This means that any attachments or special settings you used on this post won't be saved, just the text and where it's going! Hit 'Yes'.

To access your hidey hole of saved drafts, click on 'User Control Panel' in the main navbar [If you have trouble, make sure you are logged in!]
![Image](http://i1242.photobucket.com/albums/gg530/travisccook/Draft2.png)
Using the right-hand side bubble-shaped drop-down (I need a shorter descriptor for these...) select 'Manage Drafts'
![Image](http://i1242.photobucket.com/albums/gg530/travisccook/Draft4.png)
Here we have several options, which you choose depends on what you want to do: Are you ready to post this bad boy, or do you want to edit what you have saved and then save the draft without posting?
If you just want to review your draft, make some changes, and then save the draft without posting it click either the name of the Draft or 'View/Edit'
![Image](http://i1242.photobucket.com/albums/gg530/travisccook/DRAFT5.png)
If you are ready to resume your editing and actually post it, click 'Load Draft' and this will bring you back to where you started when you first hit 'Save Draft'

Happy drafting!
