2000 Ford Expedition XLT

Post by DDgunslinger » Thu May 24, 2012 1:25 pm

The truck has some vibrations, and I haven't been able to figure out what's causing it. I just don't have to the time or money to fool with it anymore. The body is ok, there is some scratches, rust around the bottom of the doors and basically needs a fresh coat of paint. Brand new tires and battery, transmission is fine, and runs great. The interior isn't bad, a few spots here and there. It would make a great work truck or a first vehicle. If someone with more mechanical skills, and some extra cash can get it lined out. It has a clean title and I am the second owner. It has 161,000 miles on it, and for a 2000 model it is all around in pretty good shape. It is an automatic, power windows, and clothe interior. Kelly Blue Book for fair condition is $3,860 for a private seller, however because of the vibration problem, and I'm not quite sure what the issue is. I am asking $2500obo.

Old Thread, still got it... was hoping to get it fixed and use as a range vehicle. Anyway, had somethings pop up and would like to move this quickly. $1000 obo if sold by Oct 1st, located in Okolona area, will need battery also.

Figure somebody might have the time to fix it and have a good work truck, either that or flip it for a profit.

I'd do it in a heartbeat if I had some money laying around. Wife could use a new vehicle.

Probably just needs a u-joint or a wheel bearing. Does the vibration go away when you are rolling down the road and put it in neutral or is it still there? Could be something as simple as torque converter shutter and just needs a shutter additive. High possibility in a automatic Ford. Good deal regardless of what it is...GLWS

Tire or tires could have a belt separated. This can cause a really noticeable, easily felt vibration.
They can look like a lump or knot in the tread area or even the sidewalls. I had one that would shake like crazy. After I took it off and rolled it around ,you could see it easily.

It something that continues to rotate even in neutral... but those are all likely candidates.
