I've got an Outback IID from Lincoln Arms and have used it on my 10/22 and my 22/45. I haven't gotten to experiment with a bunch of different ammo yet, but I have tried federal bulk pack standard velocity and Remington subsonics. Both are noticably more quiet through the pistol than the 10/22 and of course the standard velocity is louder (not by much though).

I think most suppressors are going to perform similarly with .22, so you probably can't go wrong with either.

I got the IID because it can be disassembled and cleaned (which I thought was a good thing) but when I read the instructions, Gemtech was almost trying to discourage cleaning it.

Either way, I highly recommend doing business with Lincoln Arms when you decide. That's a pretty sweet price on the IID, and he makes the process painless.

When talking about NFA stuff, that had better be your attitude, else you will take a bath on transfers, tax stamps, and price costs.

With NFA, "buy once, cry once" is literally true.

If the decision hasn't already been made, I'd suggest looking at Huntertown Arms SS Kestrel or Guardian .22 cans. Heavy duty, useable on all rimfire calibers, full auto capable, easy to maintain & clean, and very reasonably priced. They also use "K" baffles that vitually eliminate "first round pop", which is a little problematic with monocore baffles like the SS Sparrow (which I have and love).

I have had one of the Kestrel cans in process since August and the tax stamp should arrive sometime in Feb. (I hope!). With a little luck, I should be able to pay RexT a visit very soon to pick it up. Once I have it in hand, I'll be happy to let anyone interested examine or even shoot it any time.

ETA: I am in no way taking anything from the SilencerCo Sparrows or SWR Spectre II's, both of which are phenominal cans at the very top of the .22 suppressor world. I already have a Sparrow, and my next .22 can will likely be the Spectre II. I suggest looking at the HTA cans as a reasonably priced starting point. .22 cans are like pistachios, there is no way in hell you'll ever be satisfied with just one. I'm currently waiting for .22 can number 3, and will need yet another, very soon.

Not to high-jack the thread, but what is the average cost of doing a NFA trust?

I've got a SWR Spectre II in the works now. All stainless, stacked baffles, serviceable, full auto rated, 22lr, 22mag, 17hmr, FN 5.7, great customer service. Not much more than the Outback IID. A Sparrow was the only other 22 can I was considering.

+100000. I honestly believe the SWR Spectre 2 and the Sparrow are the best two all around .22 cans available today. Others can be had more inexpensively but the NFA game is essentially forever. Truly is Buy once Cry once. Per wyldman above.

Zero. Send me an email address and I'll send you the template to create your own trust. This is the same template I used to establish my trust, and 6 cans later, no one has ever questioned it's validity, nor caused any paperwork hassles from BATF.

ETA: I'm happy to share this .pdf file for the template with anyone who wants it, just PM me an email address so I can send it to you directly. I've tried to attach it here, but the site does not allow .pdf files

I also have a Stratus from them that works very well, too. Is the Cascade AL or SS inner parts? The Stratus is all AL and very lightweight.

I'm honestly not sure. It's light though. It's small. Only possible "down side" is it does not come apart. I don't care. I don't clean it a bunch anyways. It's stupid quiet in my bolt gun with subsonic ammo!

To the OP or anyone else interested. In addition to what I already have in stock, I have on order more Spectres, sparrows, warlocks, outbacks, pilots, kestrels, guardians. Some sells before I even get it in! I have some stuff left in stock but it has been moving very quickly lately. You can come to Smokin Guns in Paris and fondle them all you want.Should have these in a month or so.
