There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

Who said it's bad?SeymourSkinner wrote:the White House said that effective immediately, the federal government will no longer fund or provide armored vehicles that run on a tracked system instead of wheels, weaponized aircraft or vehicles, firearms or ammunition of .50-caliber or higher, grenade launchers, bayonets or camouflage uniforms. The federal government also is exploring ways to recall prohibited equipment already distributed. "
Why is this a bad thing?

People complain about the militarization of the police force. The president decides to stop giving them military equipment so now people are complaining that it's because he plans to send in the military to take over.

I think its smoke and mirrors as I have never heard of any of this being given to LEO.
Only thing I have seen or heard of are things like subguns/machineguns (M16's mostly), 1911's (no departments really use these I think), all weapons under .50's (unless some got barretts (which I never heard of), wheeled swat type vehicles, riot control helmets and shields, personal protection armor, recon or non weapon aircraft, etc. Not saying it doesn't happen but these aren't things I have seen in person or in the news or from firsthand accounts so seems like its all about nothing except saying "we did something".

Re: Restrictions on distribution of mil-style equip to polic
My question is, what police departments have this type of now banned equipment in the first place?
