I truly hope you can see how ignorant that statement is. Do you realize that this country was built upon the unjust slavery of black people? Yes, it was a long time ago, and, no, I am not saying that reparations are needed to rectify slavery in the past. The idea of reparations can be intelligently debated for or against; however, to say that slavery "in no way affects them whatsoever" is just plain dumb.

Reparations=Entitlement, which is the number one reason US is in the dumper........

I completely agree our country was built on the backs of slaves and that is a terrible thing, but to pay someone money for something that happened hundreds of years ago to their ancestors is ignorant. I stand by my statment that is does not affect them. They werent there, they dont know what it was like...they only know what they have heard in history classes and on the news and they have internalized that emotion to make it there own. They have had equal rights since Dr. Kings time and IMO its as simple as that. This is just another excuse to give them money for nothing and one more leg for people like Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton to stand on so they can make us all beleive that by working hard and acheiving more than there people that we are bad. So no i dont see how that statement is ignorant in any way.

One would think i have learned my lesson. Two long responses and both timed out with no way to recover them.

Slavery is still alive and well...people have allowed themselves to become slaves of the government via welfare and other "entitlement" programs.
