Since when did facts have anything to do with this?

Revised version

Remember this is what I think they're try to get but not necessarily get.

New in blue

More likely
* Ban High cap mags. Set limit to 10 again.
* Ban Quick change mag wells. Do what CA did, but this time no bullet button work-a-round.
* Ban Hollowpoints. In some state already it's prison time if caught with HPs.
* Ban the import of "assault" style rifles
* Ban the import of ammo.
* Ban bayonet lugs again. Will put an end to drive by bayonetings. (Remember only emotions are involved in this process)
* Ban flash hiders. See bayonet.
* Ban bump fire and similar type stocks
* Ban SBRs and full autos. They already have your name and address and it's S/N. knock knock.
* Homicide tax on all ammo
* Ban the shoulder thing that goes up (a little humor for those who get it)
* Close the so called gun show loophole.
* Impose a waiting period
* Ban internet ordering of ammo & firearms
* Fuck with my Tavor pre-order!

Somewhat likely
* Require registration of all "assault" style rifles if they don't get a complete ban.
* Limit purchase amount of ammo per month and require ID and background check for ammo.
* Limit and/or add taxes to reloading components
* Impose micro stamping

Less likely
* Completely ban all sales of "assault" style rifles.
* Ban the transfer/sales of "assault" rifles, hi-cap mags etc.. between individuals. In effect as people die off their rifles would have to turned in and destroyed.
* Ban all "non-hunting" type rifles.
* Ban lead ammo (99%, or something like that, of ammo) in effect drive up the cost of ammo. EPA just needs to issue the order.
* Increase min length from 26 to something like 34 or so. (harder in conceal)

Not very likely (yet)
* Require registration of all firearms
* Ban the possession of "assault" style rifles. knock knock

I've never understood the 'gun show loophole'...????

I bought a used revolver at a gunshow and still had to fill out a 4473....where's the loophole?

In places like Kentucky, private persons of 21 or older and sell handguns to each other without filling out any federal paperwork. Vendors will often purchase booth space at gun shows, which is probably what happened to you. Some people want to draw up a bill of sale to protect themselves if the gun is used in a crime and it was bought in their name. The bill can prove they sold it to another person. But in Kentucky, there is no law mandating this.

Not all states allow undocumented private sales, so the so-called loophole isn't a universal fact.

That gives the outlook some of the anti-self defense crowd has but that is not really what they think specifically. I guarantee anyone that says anything about the "gunshow loophole" doesn't know that many states have ftf transactions so the gunshow is just a dot on the map when the act they are speaking about happens everyday in parking lots because they have no clue you can do that besides going to a gun show.

I've purchased a significant number of my firearms in Wal-Mart parking lots.

I *HATE* Wal-Mart, but I like their parking lots. :llama:

Just did a gun deal in a Wally World parking lot last night.

Always well lit and easy to find.

parking lot stories time?
first handgun i bought was transacted in the employee parking lot at UK, at a time when their policy is to fire anyone who has any kind of gun on campus even if just kept in their car. we were both UK employees. Thankfully (but sadly only recently) the KY supreme court shot down UK's rule saying employees are allowed to conceal in their vehicles. however, passing one from one car to another still wouldn't passed muster :D
