Some of us can't spend money constantly on ammo, so I'm not sure if I would word it as moron.

twenty bucks a week spent on ammo if you don't get to shoot often will keep you up pretty well
I probably average shooting $50-100 worth of ammo a week...haha
But you don't have a wife, kid and make work extra on the side so you have lots of time to shoot (plus your backyard range), plus you been buying lots of new toys to shoot too

I don't think you will see the price of AR's go anywhere near as high as post Newtown. Too many people caught with their pants down have taken advantage of the soft market. Ammo is a different story evidentially from the panic

nope, espcially when you can buy lower receivers for under $40 and a AR parts kit for 475. Or buy a full new AR of different brands for 550.

AR market is flooded.
There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

Saw an ad for S&W MP15 for like $550. I think the rifles are safe...just the ammo that could be a problem

Coalition to Stop Gun Violence
February 27 at 10:48am · Edited ·
The Obama Administration took a remarkable step this past weekend that received little attention, but which deserves our full support. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is proposing prohibiting the sale and use of certain 5.56mm/.223 caliber ammunition by civilians because of its ability to pierce bulletproof vests. Please submit your own public comment to ATF regarding this proposed new rule at APAComments@atf.gov
Using that criteria just about every rifle round would be banned.

Ding ding ding

Not to mention you have the ATF saying bullets with something other than a lead core are illegal...at the same time the EPA is trying to ban lead bullets

It's stupid.

If a criminal is willing to commit murder by shooting a cop in body armor, he isn't going to say "Oh I can't commit this murder because the bullet I was going to use is outlawed".

I think we're arriving at the same conclusion:

Buy ammo while you can.

Makes perfect sense to people who think like this
http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2015/0 ... vy-league/
“We’re talking about why shouldn’t a woman be able to carry a gun to protect herself. But if you’re going to give her a gun, you’re also going to have to give rapists a gun, and I think we can all realize that’s a really bad idea.” – Alexandra Brodsky in “Campus-carry” bill raises safety concerns [at cbsnews.com]
Makes my head hurt
