Re: Gun Control Watch
1,000% tax on "assault" weapons
A House Democrat plans to introduce a bill that would hit AR-15's with a 1,000% tax — and it could pass Congress without GOP votes

There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

Re: Gun Control Watch
That’s fine. By the time sniffy Joe is out of office, our dollars will be devalued to the point that a $20k rifle tax will be like paying for the $200 permission slip tax today. Both ARE INFRINGING on our rights, but we accept the infringements already in place.WLJ wrote:1,000% tax on "assault" weapons

Magazines will be taxed at the same rate, but I don’t think it can be applied to a private sale. So they will need to ban those too, which they are already trying to do.

Re: Gun Control Watch
No, Dave just lived thru the "assault weapon ban" and saw all kinds of creative stuff.
My first gun store boss was converting UZI's back in the day. He also came up with a little "switch" that was said to used to convert any uzi to full auto. Yeah it was a good switch...but also required you have a fully auto bolt. His one company/partner sold the switch under one name and a post office box. and then when you got the switch it had instructions that you ALSO needed the bolt (many people not happy) because the bolts were being sold at 150 in the 80's.
Was hilarious and he sold both items under different companies.

Re: Gun Control Watch
Reported they have 60 votes for the Red Flag Bill
On the surface I understand the intent of RF laws but they can be abused out the arse. Would mean anyone from the Karen next door, to you ex, to the govt can have your 2A rights stripped in an instant without warning.
Note: They haven't actually voted yet

Re: Gun Control Watch
This is scary not only for the 2a but removing due process and taking rights and property with out a hearing.WLJ wrote:Reported they have 60 votes for the Red Flag Bill

We had a hearing you didn’t know about until the swat team shows up.
Are they using 1984 as a how manual?

Re: Gun Control Watch
Agreed on the surface they seem logical. But they also remove due process from out legal system which I believe is a terrible precedent to set and as you said they can and will be abused.WLJ wrote: ↑Sun Jun 12, 2022 12:57 pmReported they have 60 votes for the Red Flag Bill
