Maybe they were arguing who was going to have to pay for a cerakote finish he did on that sidearm. He didn't want the bad publicity.

Exactly. He's not the po-leece. Intervening to save the life of someone else is one matter, but he shot both of them! :?

Yep same here. He inserted himself into a situation that was not an immediate threat to him. I don't see this turning out well for him.

I have no idea what actually happened, but the lesson is clear, nonetheless:

Sucks for him. That shop is right around the corner from my house. While I haven't purchased anything there, I liked the business being in the SW Louisville. Not many actual gun shops out this way.

He gave me a bunch of details that im not sure I can share but he said it looked like a good shoot by the store owner.

Anybody heard anything? Seems like this story disappeared off the radar.
There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

Attacking with a Glock in 380 or 9mm?Still engaging a target 40 to 50 yards is stretching it.

The law in KY is pretty specific abut this very situation, they cover it extensively in the CCDW course.

As I understand it, if your defending your life or believe you are defending your life , you have a legal defense . If your defending someone else, you are not afforded the same defense if it so happens that a mistake is made.

He is no longer able to hold a FFL because of the pending indictment.

This event took place right around the corner from my house. I haven't read anything that says he would have been justified getting involved in the altercation at all. I understand there was a gun involved by the brothers, but do not understand where the threat to human life came in to play that would allow someone to think they were defending another's life from an actual threat. I wasn't there when it took place, but everything I've seen from people that were there does not look good for the defendant. There are a lot of anti-gun people out in our city. I'd hate to be in his position. Hopefully he can get an honest, fair trial by his peers.

Have any of you guys met with any of them? I got a cerakote job done and it turned out good. But it was my first so i wouldnt know the difference.

As for justified, Im not sure if the case is ongoing or not and I didnt dig too deep but from the little short blurb he told me on the events which happened, he was justified. Id rather not say anything more.

I dont know why he is no longer part owner, maybe to mitigate any lossses in the event of a civil suit?

Yes, as to his work -no better than any other finisher I have seen.

His word, law thought otherwise

A indictment for a felony is a disqualifier to hold a FFL.

Based on the limited info i dont see any way it could be justified. He inserted him self into a situation that was not endangering his life. He chose to play cop when he wasn't one. He should have stayed inside and called the police. But again this is my take based on the limited info given.
