Wal-Mart Fights Shareholder Proposal on Firearms

Post by WLJ » Mon Feb 23, 2015 6:13 pm

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has asked the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to toss out a ruling that would force the retailer to let shareholders vote on a proposal from a Manhattan Episcopal church concerned about firearm sales.

There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

If the religious organization does not agree with Wal-Mart selling firearms then why did they buy stock in the company??

God made man.
Samuel Colt made all men equal.
John M. Browning and the 1911 made some men more equal than others.

What better way to change the direction of an "evil" corporation than to become a (majority) shareholder.

I naturally disagree with the church's opinion; nevertheless, I absolutely support their right to do this.

If stockholders aren't allowed to have a say in a company's direction, stocks become more worthless than they already are.

Corperation are not democritcies, the shareholders have a right to vote for the broad of directors based on thier voting shares.

The broad has the right to control the corperation based on the votes of the shareholders.

The church is a minority and has little to say , only based on the share of stock.

I don't think any of that was in question.
