If you're asking for opinions of the two lights you mentioned, I can only comment on the Surefire G2X Pro. It's the light I keep in my glovebox; had it for 5-6 years, and I've never had an issue with it. I usually like my lights to have a single output level, but for a general use light, the low output option is convenient. No need to blind yourself when looking for something.
As an aside, my old 6Z is still going strong after 15+ years of hard use. I replaced the head with a Malkoff LED, but not out of necessity.
Yeah, having a low output for the more likely scenario of changing a tire at night, lost keys, or looking for treasure at night where you think a drug trafficker might have buried it are a more realistic. 320 lumens for 4ft distance is overkill. Plus the batteries lasting more than 2 hours is a bonus by lowering the output.
