As a young infantry LT I had more "cool" knives than I knew what to do with. Then I finally pulled my head out of my ass, dropped a Victorinox SAK in my pocket, and never looked back.
I'm just glad there wasn't *nearly* as much gear available then as there is now. I'd probably still be paying credit card bills.
