Re: SOE AK/M4 Micro Rig
I had a micro rig and it was good quality but I'd recommend getting the one with the bungees on top just personal preference. I currently have a order with them from November 11th and am still waiting. There stuff is quality but be prepared to wait. Check there Facebook page for discount codes and sometimes they have stuff that you can buy and it ships right away posted on there.

Re: SOE AK/M4 Micro Rig
I would highly recommend going with the SKD PIG UCR... it's the best bang for the buck and you're guaranteed to have by April (As in you'll probably have it on your door step within three days of you placing your order)... no promises with SOE
Also there customer service is on point and SKD has sales every month on something or another.

Re: SOE AK/M4 Micro Rig
I have been looking at the PIG just wasn't for sure if it would be overkill for my needs, Does anyone know of a shop that keeps SOE gear in stock?
The rigs I have been looking as have been 1. SOE Rig 2. PIG UCR 3. HSP D3CR 4. Condor MCR5

Re: SOE AK/M4 Micro Rig
I use an HSGI AO Chest Rig http://www.highspeedgear.com/hsgi/ao-ch ... 0SCR1.html with a Tactical Tailor mag panel and Tactical Tailor SAW Pouch for med/misc stuff. I really like the HSGI chest rig as it seems just about the perfect size to carry what you need without going overboard or being too bulky. Plus it's modular so pouches can be swapped as needed.
I've had some SOE pouches in the past that were high quality and I like the design of their micro rig but John Willis' (SOE's owner) behavior and shady past keeps me from ever buying any more of their gear.

It's not over kill, it's a good universal rig. I don't know of any places that stock SOE... so you'd have to order and play the waiting game.HEYOPEY wrote:I have been looking at the PIG just wasn't for sure if it would be overkill for my needs, Does anyone know of a shop that keeps SOE gear in stock?

The Haley's D3 rig is good too, and has the ability to pair with some of the plate carriers on the market i.e Mayflower and Velocity Systems.
I'd scrub the condor though

Re: SOE AK/M4 Micro Rig
ive been eye balling the D3 for awhile especially because they snap to plate carriers and also have the flat pack now that integrates with it. The only thing keeping me from it is the whole rig is pricey.DDgunslinger wrote:It's not over kill, it's a good universal rig. Re: SOE AK/M4 Micro Rig
Can anyone tell me if the ATS Med Pouch Insert will fit into one of the side mag pouches on the PIG UCR?

Re: SOE AK/M4 Micro Rig
I don't think so, going by the insert advertised dimensions. A review says the insert fits perfectly in a Tactical Tailor Universal Mag Pouch, which holds three USGI mags. There's no way I can fit three USGI mags into the PIG UCR pouches. The insert is collapsible, so if you download it to be just a blow-out kit you could probably squeeze it in.HEYOPEY wrote:Can anyone tell me if the ATS Med Pouch Insert will fit into one of the side mag pouches on the PIG UCR?

Re: SOE AK/M4 Micro Rig
I have a micro rig. It's nice for a handy lightweight mag carrier. A med insert doesn't really fit in a 2-mag pocket. It's about as thick as 3 gi mags. If you want, I can grab a couple pics tonight

US Palm mags are a snug fit.
When filled, the tray is much bigger"The unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or the state governments, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people."

D3 is pretty good shit. Tried lots of things, and the D3 is where I am staying after running it through a couple of classes now.
