HK's new MP5-22lr

Post by SHARP1983 » Sat Mar 17, 2012 4:02 pm

Just incase anyone was on the edge of buying one of the new HK MP5-22's, DO IT! Just picked up one of the new SD-6's and this thing is a blast too shoot and didn't have any problems at all. Also, these are not built by Umarex, they are built in Germany at the Walther plant and imported by Umarex. I'll keep posting more range reports as time progresses.

Guess who owns Walther.
There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

I know that Umarex owns "Walther", I'm just saying that it wasn't built here in the states by the same people that built the Colt M4-22 that was notorious for problems. These are actually built in Germany and have the proofmarks too prove it. Only time will tell what kind of abuse and use the rifle can handle but for now she's running great.

Update: 600+ rds in, no cleaning and only 7 malfunctions. All malfunctions were ammo related, some under powered shells that would cycle the bolt enough to eject the spent round but not pick up the next one. So far I've ram Rem, Winchester, and Federal.

What about accuracy, have you tested it out what it can do?

So far I haven't really shot for accuracy. I'm not the world's best at shooting groups unless I can shoot prone or off bags. I will get a good bench and I'll see how it does and post up some groups.

I've been keeping my eye on these - really like what I'm hearing about them. Thanks for the updates.

I looked at one when I bought the smith. What turned me off was the barrel size under the fopressor it was about the thickness of a brake line. Cool gun but i did not get it.
