I own a 930 its a nice weapon. Shoots quick sights are fast on target. I run a surefire light in an elzetta mount works well. never shot low recoil stuff out of it but i has never had an issue with any other loads.

Re: Scatter gun
So I went to 111, shooters and lotus today looking for a 930 SPX. NO GO. Lotus has only 1 of that Mossberg JM series left. Standing in the shop debating on buying or not.
Re: Scatter gun
think lincolnarms (sponsor) had one of those JM series for like 695 on armslist (they are in bardstown)Toecutter1978 wrote:So I went to 111, shooters and lotus today looking for a 930 SPX. NO GO. Lotus has only 1 of that Mossberg JM series left. Standing in the shop debating on buying or not.

Re: Scatter gun
I like to play with my Saiga 12. I also like it for HD since I can reload with a mag swap.
For other uses, I have a Beretta AL391 Teknys. I would like to learn to shoot trap at some point with it.

Re: Scatter gun
I didn't pick it up. That is a sweet shotgun, but man is it long. I guess I could replace the stock though. The debate goes on.

Re: Scatter gun
I picked up a Remington 870 Tactical. So, anybody have luck with the SpeedFeed IV? I'm looking to expanding the capacity of rounds carried, and adding a pistol grip.

Re: Scatter gun
I have speedfeeds that hold 4 rounds in the stock on both my mb500 8+1 pumps. I keep buckshot in the tubes and slugs in the stock. I practice with birdshot and loading slugs in tube with fired case chambered, cuz they dont have a mag disconnect. Like everything it's one thing to understand how to run, but without actually practicing with the speed feed might come up short if ever needed, especially pulling from far side of stock. Glad I ditched the pistol stocks, besides concealability they are useless, and I don't need to conceal my shotguns. LOL

Re: Scatter gun
I've never had good luck with Remingtons, and the one 1187 I've played with was a pos. My brother bought one and it piled up on him after less than a box of target loads. Tinfoil stamped elevator gave him trouble until he traded it away. I like my old pump Winchester 1200. 20" barrel, mag extension 7+1, and a slick fast action. It is chambered for 2 3/4", but I've never felt it was lacking by not chambering 3".
Maybe shouldn't comment on Mossbergs, I've never owned one and only seen a couple in action that were owned by friends. They were cheap, so they bought them.

Re: Scatter gun
I got a Mossberg 930 waterfowel. Swapped the barrels and replaced the 28" one with a 24" non-ported that was tapped for different choke tubes and add a choate +5 mag extention. Shot all kinds of low barss el'cheapo threw it. Shot a bunch of 3-gun also and it is way more than a match to the big$$$$ shotguns out there. I will say however it is a monster to handle and IMHO not the best home defense shotgun as it stand right now because of it's length. Looking back and hind sight being what it is I would have either gone with the SPX and had it tapped to except choke tubes or went with a Mossberg 590A1 pump also tapped for choke tubes. But if your wanting a beast shotgun that will run with the $$$$ for alot alot less cash then the 930 will IMHO is the way too go.
