Shooting low with trijicon HD novak

Just got some Trijicon HD Novak sights model 600527 on my springfield trp 1911 5" barrel.

Before I was shooting almost bullseye with old sights. These new ones got put on and I am shooting atleast 2" low on average. Im not the best shot (I did cover the front sight dot with the target) but I also certainly know when its the gun and not me. Im not anticipating the recoil, I made sure of this by shooting my G19 and I shot on target.

Anyone know elevation fix or what is causing this?

Far fetched theory: got this off amazon warehouse(previous customer return) customer couldve possibly swapped out the sights?

You have a higher front sight, than your old old
No fix except to change front or raise rear.

I figured that was the case. Im wondering im certain its not supposed to be this way?

Id certainly love to except it cost me 40 to install and im sure 40 to uninstall after I paid 120.

Id be out less of a loss if I did sell to you. Let me see if I can somehow fix this first.

IF it is a SET of sights, then shouldn't they match each other, height for height?

Im wondering if its the customer return who swapped it. Would only make sense, wouldnt mind too much since amazon will return it for free, but ive already paid labor to have it installed!!!

Hmm. The 2 trijicons mounted on my gun are h3 15. The 2 which were on my gun previous were Hx 14? and H3 14.

Im assuming I either ordered the wrong sights or the previous guy swapped some out some H14 for H15s which wouldn't make sense.

Nevermind on markings, that only determines other things.

I did look into model number and under 1911 in Trijicon it states CA1280 which is supposedly what I got! I guess ill turn to measurements to see if the parts are what I was supposed to get.

Do you have a way to measure the height of each and know the specs of what they should be?

if i'm not mistaken, there is something called the internet which hosts a website listing all the specs. Then there is a tape measure I will use to verify the specs. :D :D :D :D

The hard part is that it is now mounted on the gun and I am using a big ass tape measure

I think you'd need something a little more precise to tell the difference.

You are absolutely right. I am figuring this out. Also the hardest part is not only getting precise measurements bu converting it to damn decimal. I forgot how many lines are in an inch not to mention how to read one other than 1/4, 2/4 3/4 and 1 "

At what distance is it shooting two inches low?

A quick search on the 1911 forum indicates you're not alone; others have also had problems with these sights on Springfields shooting low.

How about you ask the shop/guy who installed the sights.
They should have a caliper to measure with.

:D I figured that out once I started measuring.

I will this weekend when I go back in.

I also googled it and seems it's the trijicon HDs, not solely 1911s. One fix I saw is trijicon replaced their front sight but the guy had to send in his own front sight with a target he shot. Kinda sucks as this is costing more than it should and i'm not sure why there is this problem to begin with?

Part of me just wants to take it off myself and return the damn sight to amazon, except I have no idea how to take it off and I hear it's hard.

I'm shooting 2" low at 7 yards. Pretty significant.

Have you shot at a further distance, say 15 yrds? Does the group come up?

I know my 10-8 performance sights are taller than factory Glock sights and are meant to be POA/POI at 25 yrds. So when I'm shooting at targets at 10 yrds, my groups are about 2 inches low.

Just something to consider and look at.

Sorta like a rifle MPBR being 2" high at 100yds but the other direction?
