Re: 1911 Picture Thread
Fair enough, I would too. But had to ask!
Just bought this old Gov't Model tonight, kind of fell in my lap. Not mint, but with a sight swap, a proper trigger/grip safety/msh and a repro set of checkered stocks it should do nicely. If I'm reading the serial number right, it was born in 1914. It looks like some heat was applied during the custom sight install, but for the price I paid, I'm not going to complain haha. Will also find out if the barrel is original. Not going to hold my breath but you never know.

Re: 1911 Picture Thread
New Colt Day! Finally got my brother's old Government Model. Think my 1911 count is at 28 Muhahahahahaha. He might have borrowed one last night though, can't remember. If so that's 29.
With my other S70 just like it.

Re: 1911 Picture Thread
An old S70 Colt with Wilson Combat sights installed.
Bought it like this, for the wood on it. Original WW1 checkered grips in really good shape.
Got rid of the beavertail and the old S70 bushing and put some beat up medallion grips on it. Decent shooter, good knockaround pistol. Need to put a simple hi profile rear sight on it and then its ready for action.
