Well damn its nice. Ive owned a 226 but never messed with one of their 1911s. May have to now
I have heard some folks groaning over the external extractor on the SIG 1911's but they seem to have perfected it as I find very few mentions of problems with it on the interwebs.
My SIG 1911 works just fine. I'd buy another.

I've never had an issue with mine after the first mag or two. The first couple it had some small growing pains but it shoot like a top now. It couple have just been the ammo I was using when I first bought it. I love it.

I need to try one I have a stock gun still. Going to change a few things. Magwell, and grips and trigger will be another thing I am thinking of

Doing the Trigger swapping is easy... Getting the trigger pull smooth on a swap can be the tricky part. Benefit of the flat trigger... Same gun response no matter where the finger ends up on the trigger..

Here is my Argentine 1911. This was one used by local police according to the stamp on the slide.
This pistol was made in 1960 according to the serial number. When I got it there was no finish left on it. It was all matching numbers and was in need of a lot of work. I decided to make it into a bit of a custom shooter. I went thru it and replaced all the springs and a couple of broken pins. The original trigger was bent so I put in a custom one. With a little bit of stone work and a new barrel bushing It is a nice shooter now.
I sprayed it with HK Black and OD green Dura coat and I am happy with the finish. I added factory Colt rubber grips I picked uo years ago. Its kind of a Wilson Combat color finish. I'm not sure if I am going to get into this pistol any more, I have a couple others to work on.
