Wonder if they'll offer it in .308, too?

I don't see the point in making it .30-06 instead of .308....nostalgia is great and all, but if you are gonna modernize the rest of it why not the cartridge

Actually, the only good I see in this so far, beyond looking cool and being neat, is the fact that its chambered in 30/06. While not a huge fan of the round , it means that you can fit Belted magnum round, as well as specialized long range rounds or custom hunting rounds. There are a bunch of options in short action based systems, but really not that many in long action , I think thats a great direction to go if your offering a new rifle that dose not really do anything different then other modern rifles.

Plus, during the panic, you could still find 30-06.
