Sell it and buy a smaller caliber. Serious, it is a bolt action large caliber rifle and it isn't going to get much better. Do not take a dremel to anything and let Cranky look it over because it may be a lot simpler to fix and require no tools.Bama wrote:So I finally got to shoot this thing today. After a couple rounds, the bolt assembly hangs up and won't move unless I really pull up and back on it. Once it cools down, its fine for a couple more rounds. Seems I just need to dremel a little bit to make it smoother.
Also, for me personally, the recoil really kills my shoulder. What product could I put on to absorb most of that recoil?
The 762x54r is a big round and produces a stout recoil. It was designed as long distance man stopper and to penetrate cover in a indestructible action, not for comfort. I guess men were more manly back then. (insert Rob here)Bama wrote:So I finally got to shoot this thing today. I shot a Mosin that done this and the owner said it was an extractor issue I believe. The action should be smooth, have a smith look at it or throw some parts at it.Bama wrote:So I finally got to shoot this thing today.
