Any classes available Sat. June 23?
I usually work on Saturdays but I have that day off until late afternoon. I am not sure when I will get another Saturday free. I live in Green county but could drive a bit. Any classes available? Thanks

How does KY define "concealed""?
Does concealed mean 100% out of sight when you turn a 360? If just the grip of the gun is visible from the front is that concealed? What if the holster is obvious when looking at the back but not from the front? What about a shoulder holster outside the shirt where the arm covers part of the gun but...

I never followed up this thread--I just saw it linked as a good "intro to Glock" read...
Many here know I bought a Gen 3 19 FDE and I have not looked back!

Re: Would a Glock be a good first buy?
Yep it is a "magazine," but I know a lot of people who still call it a clip, but they are just being ignorant. :). And when shooting you rarely refer to a "bullet"--you do not put a "bullet" into a magazine but a cartridge. Most refer to these as "rounds." The bullet is just the part of the cartridg...

Re: Bought a 19
Sorry--exclusive run from the wholesaler, Lipsey's--they do not deal directly with the public but use a network of authorized dealers. The retailer sets his own price. Some are on gunbroker b/c the retailer selling the gun is hoping to get full retail price or even more due to demand. You see more G...

Gen 3 19 in FDE frame--sweet! Got it at Bud's in Lex. They were great. I got free range time and put 50 rounds thru right off the bat. This thing is smooth like buttah! Love it!

Re: Response to "why would you not want a safety?"
Thanks for the replies. The sheer number of Glock users over the last 25 years is in my favor. My dad makes it sound like it is driving a car without brakes. That is just not the case.

Response to "why would you not want a safety?"
I am trying to get into guns. I am still gun-less. I have been studying up and have pretty much decided that a 19 is the way to go, preferably a Gen 3 and maybe lightly used to save $$. My dad, who is not a big "gun" guy (though he owns a few so he is more of one than I am) asks me what i am thinkin...

Re: To Glock or Not to Glock?
I am new to guns and I am looking towards getting a G19 as a first gun--likely the only gun for a while. Several people have told me that the 19 is just a great all-around size and suitable for range/carry/home/whatever...

I am leaning towards a 19. Have you seen the ones in Flat Dark Earth frames from Lipsey's? May have to get a Gen III 19 in FDE.scorpionmain wrote:Let me save you some trouble. Get a Glock.

Introducing myself
Hey folks, My name is Chad and I live in Green county. I am new to guns--so new that I not own one yet, but I am planning on getting a pistol for me and one for my wife. I am leaning towards 9mm semi-autos for starters, ploy frames... I also dig knives, watches, and guitars. I am glad to be here and...
