Sorry, y'all, but the software blows.
Look. I tried to work with the system. For someone with mild OCD, the double posts are driving me insane. The software is just ridiculous. Unfortunately, based on what I've searched, no one seems too concerned with it. Even the mods are double-posting with wreckless abandon. Unless I'm mistaken, it ...

Re: Russian Boots on the Ground
I swear I just saw Dick Durbin on the teewee saying we urgently needed a strongly worded resolution.
If anything, maybe Putin will die laughing. I never thought I'd ever consider the possibility that Russia may have a better president than us.

Re: Clip vs Mag
My buddy from Ohio who comes down to hunt every year on his FIL's (my neighbor a couple properties down) land, who is also a gun nut, constantly calls them clips. I've given up on correcting him. He also thinks deer have horns. I've given up on that, too. Every deer season he causes my OCD to flare ...

Re: More proposed confiscation laws
I always loved this picture from Oleg Volk:

I am, alas, limited to more conventional magazines. No matter, though. I'll die in a pile of brass... or at least Russian steel cases... anyway. Heh.

obama will puss out He shouldn't have run his mouth to begin with. It's not our problem. Our Founding Fathers were very wise in warning not to get involved in the affairs (that don't involve us) of other countries. "The United States goes not abroad in search of monsters to destroy. She is a well-w...

Like the dutchman says (to the politicians writing the laws), just make sure you're the first ones in the door. Don't send someone else's son or daughter to get my guns. You come yourself.

Re: The Walking Dead
If you go back to the prison battle scene, I would swear that one of the main characters was using an AR with no sights on it...at least a back sight anyway I love the show, but as a gun nut, just about every episode gives me a facial tic. * I think, in a world where all the ammunition factories ar...

Re: Kentucky 2nd most miserable state in U.S.??
For Pete's sake. I can look across the river and see a modern replica of wartime Stalingrad, aka, Cairo, IL. But I guess a state with the most corrupt government outside of Washington didn't make the cut...or maybe it's because the President lived there. Oh, yeah. You want to really be astonished, ...

I love living in Kentucky and I'm thankful to be a native Kentuckian.
That said, the yearly property tax on automobiles is criminal. My '03 Tundra is just now getting to the point where I can renew the tags without a stream of profanity directed at our state .gov.

What are you shooting at?
Targets, that is. For pistol, I have a couple of homemade stands using the design on Box O' Truth . Mine are a little wider. I make silhouette targets by using a cardboard template I traced off a 25yd qualification target. I clamp it to a large piece of paper cut from a big roll and spray paint it. ...

Re: Hiking/Walking Shoe
See if there's a Shoe Carnival or Shoe Sensation nearby and check in there before you order some. The one in Murray always has a bunch of nice shoes marked 50% off. I bought a pair of Merrell Tucsons a couple of weeks ago for about 45 bucks. Last year I got some Timberland Chocorua Trail boots for h...

Re: How many of you are "preppers"?
Right after the last presidential election, when it became clear that the whole country was collectively slouching toward Gomorrah, I started storing up food, fuel, and other consumables. I do it poorly, but I'm getting there. Even if there's no .gov breakdown, foreign attack, asteroid strike, solar...

Re: Who drives a Kahr?
Good gun. I had one for a while. It's shot really nice. Ended up selling it to buy a M&P full size. The Kahr was the best out there for the price but the XDs and Shield have taken the single stack market over. When you can find them in the $300 range they are tough to beat on the used market. When ...

Who drives a Kahr?
My primary carry piece currently is a Kahr CW9. Bought it nearly two years ago and have put probably a couple of thousand rounds through it, about a quarter of those reloads, without a single malfunction. My initial review from when I first bought it is posted on another forum here . Original pic fr...

I just heard an ad on the local am station while driving to work. It was for Mammoth Cave tours and the lady was talking about how they'd just discovered a new series of caverns. She went on and on about these new tours you could book. I was totally believing it until she mentioned some artifacts th...

Then Tyler's post made me sad.
Then I started reading all the trash talk in the comments at the link and got somewhat consoled. Heh.

Another one from West Kentucky
Hi folks. I just kind of wandered over from Kentucky Hunting and figured I'd sign up. I live in Calloway County, a stone's throw from KY Lake, and work as a TV engineer at a nearby university. Navy veteran (corpsman). Been a shooter all my life. Just recently started reloading... haven't blown anyth...
