Re: The Black Rifle/Pistol Pic Thread
I have nothing new to contribute but a new pic or two of my old short Colt. Took it out of the safe the other day when I went to the range, its about as effective as my whored out WW2 Colt M1911a1. Fist sized groups at 25 m....but it only opens up to head sized groups at 50! Not sure if its because ...

Re: FULL AUTO Fun.... BB gun style
I have a bb uzi that uses a CO2 cartridge per mag of 25 when doing a mag dump on auto. I win.
But I lose because I only have one mag. But I win because its an uzi.

Re: New 17HMR
New rifle is awesome so far! My shooting unsupported? Not so much haha. I'm not very steady and have spent too much time with a bipod or bags. I swiped the Leupold 3.5-10x off my older son's Chinese M1A so I could get shooting. We spent our time at the 40 metre range as my 7 yr old was with us, she'...

Re: New 17HMR
We have been lazy just shooting off bags. This weekend the wife is leaving so we are going to work on shooting offhand with a hasty sling. I need practice in this area too, might switch it out to balloons or steel plates for targets so we can at least see some results.

New 17HMR
My 8 year old grew out of his Savage Rascal this spring and I couldn't find a suitable .22 replacement so I ordered up a Savage GV lefty 17hmr for him. Slapped a cheapo Weaver 3-9x and an old leather sling I had laying around, he's convinced its pretty much exactly the same as an early M40. I won't ...

Re: My interests are shifting.....
I know, I haven't done any load development. I've only fired factory ammo so far.
The MST is a really good scope, but it was never intended for prs matches. For quickly adjusting to the range and putting a bullet in a reasonable sized target, its great.

Re: My interests are shifting.....
it is probably good enough for hunting, but I want more! Until today I'd only tried Federal 168 gr smk and Hornady 168 match. I got a shipment of 175 smk that I tried today, similar results just had to adjust my zero. I've gotten a few decent 5 and 10 shot groups, but my average seems to be hovering...

Re: My interests are shifting.....
I'm not getting good results with this rifle. Best I can do is is about .9" @ 100 yds with 5 shot groups on bags. It transfers out about the same at 200 and 300. I'm not a precision shooter by any stretch, but I'm working on it. I have a new trigger to install tomorrow, the factory one is consistent...

Re: My interests are shifting.....
So I bedded the action yesterday and picked up a new mount for the scope. Wifey told me hell no you aren't buying a new scope this year, she looked over my shoulder when I was on the internet looking at a Schmidt & Bender and slapped me on the back of the head. So I got this 20 moa base to get the U...

Standard Liberal Party line. They've been saying it since I was born. But the current gov't has been doing some sneaky stuff with laws the last couple years, it is actually cause for concern. Which is why some Canadians are working on covering themselves. Not me though, I trust him to make the right...

Re: My interests are shifting.....
This is it now: found a guy selling his new custom ordered A5 stock, but its specifically for a Surgeon. A little bit of clearancing and cleanup, and will definitely have to bed the receiver and the bottom metal. Why bed bottom metal you ask? Cause I ain't paying 500+for a detachable mag. https://i....

Re: My interests are shifting.....
These were my groups once I got the USO zeroed. I'm open to suggestions/criticism. At 100 yds, all 3 shot groups (the random holes are actually separate shots from me banging away at the target while trying to get it zeroed): all my posted groups are 3 shot, because they are the easiest! :D https://...

Re: My interests are shifting.....
Got the Remington out to the range on Saturday. I'd never shot a 700 before, I like the platform. Little things maybe, but I really like the safety. Very simple. I'm used to rotating wing and tang safeties. This thing is sweet. The action is rough, and the trigger is awful. I'm shopping for a replac...

My interests are shifting.....
I picked up a Savage TR in .17hmr this fall, been wanting to improve my plinking skills. I put a Vortex Diamondback 6-24 on it, not sold on this optic yet but getting used to it. Haven't used it much beyond just getting the scope sort of set up, but it seems ok. Never really had time to see what kin...

Re: Probably the best vehicle ever made!
Old thread but update. Boy wrote off the Tercel (called the insurance company after hitting parked car sliding on ice.) Paid the deductible on the insurance and came out with 800 bucks cash (car cost 1000 so paid 200 for him to drive for 6 months). Car wasn't even worth payout so got lucky on that o...

Maybe this will be inspiration for you, saw this Bronco at a car show last weekend. There were about 1000 vehicles at it but this one stood out to me. Simple, clean, and very cool.

Re: Can you school me on the sbr?
Gotcha. They are working now on further restricting semi rifles here, specifically the AR and a few others. They are trying to push through a new prohib bill that blankets semi centerfires, and allows them some empty slots to add specific models down the road if they missed some in the initial sweep.

Re: Can you school me on the sbr?
Difference here being that if I sold an AR, the gov has to approve the sale and then has a record of the new owner since we here have a license number tied to our name. So, if it were to be used in a crime after the transfer, they would then kick in the new owner's door and ask questions. Does this ...
