S&W Model 1917 question
As this revolver is chambered for .45 acp, I have a couple options. Moon clips with standard .45 acp, or I could get myself some .45 autorim brass. The moon clips are a pain but not the end of the world. Apparently the round will headspace itself without the clips (or so I'm told) but then ejecting ...

Re: roll em if ya got em
I dabble in in loading myself, but don't do a whole lot yet. I'm set up for: .44 russian, .45 acp, .45 Colt, .455 (webley and auto), .38 spl, .270 win, 45-70, 30-30, 7x57. Now I need to start .357 mag and .308. Like to upgrade my setup, I've got and older single stage rcbs press with assorted other ...

Re: What did you pick up today?
Picked up some moon clips and two sets of fake stag grips for S&W k frame revolvers. And picked up a 1937 Brazilian contract S&W 1917 and a 5" S&W 27-2.

Re: ID Help.
I'd say keep it as-is. Clean it up, replace any parts if necessary, enjoy. If you swap anything out, keep the originals (never know). Might not be a million dollar pistol but original in decent condition is worth more than refinished, no matter how well it was done. I'm a sucker for older firearms, ...

Re: Double Barrel 1911...WTF
I feel stupid for even watching that video. Not as practical as simply carrying two pistols haha. At least then you could theoretically engage multiple targets. Reminds me of that retarded o/u .410 1911 that popped up a while back.

Re: How do you organize your toolbox?
I used to be fairly organized when it came to tools. Now I'm lucky if a half hour search produces what I'm looking for. I'm turning my shop into a shop/gun room/lounge in the near future, so hopefully I can get things back on track.

Re: I get ONE battle rifle, whats my goto?
That's one of the attractions for a lot of people though: the aftermarket support is endless and they are easy to customize to individual taste. Is it necessary, no. But its no different with cars. If I were to buy an AR, I would keep it basic. If I could upgrade the actual performance I'd look at t...

Re: 1911 Picture Thread
Ill take a plain 1911. Attakid. Something to be said for a good ol' utilitarian pistol. If it was good enough for the boys in the trenches, its good enough for me. Nothing fancy or flashy, just a tool for the toolbox. Understated is best, I'm a humble man with simple tastes. http://i983.photobucket...

Re: I get ONE battle rifle, whats my goto?
I picked M-14 cause I just bought one (although mine's a Chinese knockoff). I know the AR is a popular platform but here they are limited to range-only use, and I have enough pistols that already restrict me in that area. As much as I'd like an AR, right now I'd rather have the freedom to take my ri...

I got a set of factory S&W combat grips with finger grooves for my k frame. Awesome feel to them. And I got my piece of sh!t Norinco shorty M-14 the other day. Going to see if I can get out to burn off 520 rds with my oldest boy tomorrow.
