You are correct. With these rifles you almost end up with chin weld. I'm leaning toward the arms #18 mount because it appears to be very low, almost too low. I've read that sometimes brass ends up stuck between the mount and receiver. I think this can be fixed with a milling machine.

does anyone have any experience with: arms, sadlak or smith enterprise M1A scope mounts?? i'm in the market for a mount and want something decent. can anyone suggest a different mount?? it will be going on a SA rifle.. thanks, greg.

I would say the scope is an old steel tube fixed power weaver. had one similar on an air rifle when I was a kid.

Looking for a 12 gauge 870. All I care is that it works. Bad wood, no wood doesn't make any difference. I want a cheap working 870.

I need a few odds and ends of reloading supplies. not really looking to buy a gun but you never know. probably be window shopping more than anything else pertaining to firearms since i'm a Kentuckian. mainly thought if there was a place i'd maybe get out to stretch the legs a bit.

have to go to fort wayne on wednesday. will be taking 65 north from Louisville. does anyone know of a gun/reloading store along the way?? I hate to get back and find out there was place to visit that was nearby, that's usually my luck. i'm willing to drive 20-30 minutes one way. thanks, greg.

what else can you say about the barrel?? diameter before and after gasblock, threaded, how many rounds fired, finish, etc.
