Low gas. The bolt isn't cycling far enough back to eject the spent casing. Buy an adjustable gas block, a lower mass bcg, hotter ammo, check gas port/block alignment, or enlarge the gas port. Cheapest is checking alignment. Most beneficial for you and me is to sell it to me dirt cheap.

I've always understood it's ok if they touch when baking. Just dump them on the tray and bake. Then break them apart with a hammer or dropping them.
