January 11, 2012
Once again we at Lincoln Trail find ourselves beginning a new year. It is hard to believe that we have come so far.
I can still remember that first night thirty two years ago when we had our first meeting at the Sundown Tavern. Although many who attended that first meeting have passed away, the heart and soul of the Lincoln Trail is alive and well.
This past year has seen more shooting activities at the club than we've ever seen in the past.
Nelson Downs and Tommy LaFollette have the Trap Shoot each Friday evening. It begins ad 6:00 PM and is a 100% pay back. There is a $20.00 fee paid by each shooter at the beginning of the night. This is used to defray the cost of the shoot. Each card is then 100% paid back to the winner of each shoot.
For more information Contact Nelson Downs at the New Haven Bargain Depot, 502-549-6716 or Tommy LaFollette at 502-549-6724.
Chris Nelson periodically is teaching a Concealed Carry Deadly Weapons Class.
There are ten Tactical Rifle Shoots scheduled for 2012.
The Larue County 4-H shooting club, shoot rifle, shotgun, and archery on our range.
David Reed and others had a very successful Wounded Warrior Fundraiser at which they raised $1590.00 for the Wounded Warrior Program.
There is an average of 10 to 15 people using the range every week just for the pure enjoyment of shooting their personal firearms.
But with all of this use comes the responsibility of maintaining a safe and functioning facility.
Because of this, several of our members have been wondering what we can do to raise money to increase our Treasury in the case of a major expense.
If you have an ideas for a fundraiser for the club, contact Larry Holbert at 502-549-3584 or come to our regular monthly meeting. That meeting in on the second Wednesday of each month, at 7:00 PM, at the Clubhouse.
With the coming of the New Year comes the renewal of your club membership for 2012.
Adult membership is $15.00, married couples $20.00 and a Jr. memebership(15 & under) is $5.00.
Please mail them to :
Lincoln Trail Fish & Game Club
PO Box 172
New Haven Ky 40051
Dues can also be paid directly to Joe Paul Brady, Nathan Brady, Larry Holbert, Nelson Downs or David Reed.
Please make sure that a current address and phone number accompanies your dues.
Sincerely
Larry Holbert
Secretary Treasurer Lincoln Trail.

Re: Lincoln trail fish and game / new haven gun range
I'm debating coming down. Every time I go to nh it. Costs me 15 bucks (gas + range fee) and I burn craploads of ammo. I don't mind but we are doing it again in a few weeks. Gotta evaluate the ammo stores

I may try to come down this Sunday. Haven't made up my mind yet though.

I bought a Mosin I've only got to fire a few rounds through to make sure it didn't blow up. Can't wait to play with it a little more.

Between the cost of gas going up today and my need for more ammo I am going to skip this one. If I were to go the 4/1 would probably be out for me.
